Starting pitcher Preston Morrison complemented a good offensive outing as TCU shut out Jacksonville 10-0 on Saturday in Jacksonville, Fla.
Morrison (1-1) pitched eight innings, giving up five hits and striking out three in the win. Jacksonville (4-6) couldn’t figure out Morrison, who at one point retired 13 straight batters.While Morrison dominated on the mound, the Frogs pounded Jacksonville starter Alex McRae for eight runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.Leading 3-0 after five innings, TCU (2-7) put the game out of reach with seven runs in the sixth. Jerrick Suiter drove in two with a bases-loaded single, and third baseman Jantzen Witte capped the inning with a grand slam off of Jacksonville reliever Will Flor.Witte, Boomer White, Dylan Fitzgerald and Keaton Jones each had two hits for the Frogs, with White hitting his first homer of the season in the fourth.
