Barnett Shale rig count up 5 to 32

Active rigs in the Barnett Shale rebounded this week from their lowest level in at least 10 years, rising by five to 32. As usual, Wise County led with 10 rigs, followed by Jack County with six and Tarrant with five, according to RigData. Devon Energy was the most active producer, running nine rigs, followed by EOG Resources with four and EnerVest with three.

Nationwide, the rig count was down four to 1,757, according to Baker Hughes. Oil rigs were up four to 1,333, while gas rigs were down eight to 420.
