Bipartisan failings

It never ceases to surprise me how the Democrats and people like Joanne Willis can keep consistently blaming the Republicans for the woes of this administration. (See: "GOP naysayers," Sunday)

The purpose of our government is to debate issues and do what is best for the country. In my opinion, neither party is doing this any more, and it is all about power and control from both sides of the aisle.

This do-nothing administration has not passed a single budget since first elected and had control of both houses of Congress.

Obama's or any president's viewpoints are not necessarily what is best for the country and should be debated. All we have for certain now is more debt and a possible government shutdown.

No one on Capitol Hill has shown leadership in resolving the issues at hand. After all, it's more important to go on golf trips with Tiger and a two-week recess of Congress.
