Ron Washington isn’t concerned about the Cactus League standings, which is a good thing for his health.

The Texas Rangers remained winless in six spring training games after falling 8-4 to the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday afternoon at Camelback Ranch. The Rangers are 0-5-1 and have been outscored 47-25.

“If we were 0-5 after March 31, I’ll have some heart attacks or something,” Washington said. “But we’re putting guys out there and some are throwing good innings and some aren’t.”

Robbie Ross, fresh off two scoreless innings in his spring debut, is among the guys who are throwing well early in spring. Ross relieved Alexi Ogando, who allowed two unearned runs in the second.

Ross worked a perfect nine-pitch third inning and worked around a one-out walk and two-out single in a scoreless fourth. He was charged with two runs in the fifth, though, serving up a two-out, two-run home run by Paul Konerko.

“I felt good, everything was going right until then and he happened to get a hold of it and hit it out of the park,” Ross said.

The Rangers pulled to 4-3 in the sixth behind three consecutive RBI doubles by Nelson Cruz, Jeff Baker and Brandon Allen.

But the White Sox extended their lead to 8-3 in the bottom half with four runs off Collin Balester . In the end, Chicago scored six of its runs with two outs.

“That’s not acceptable, but we’ve got to put guys out there and see what they can do,” Washington said. “Hopefully next time they get the ball things get better.”
