On-ramp to NE Loop

closed for months

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- The Meadow Lakes Drive on-ramp to eastbound Northeast Loop 820 was closed at 9 p.m. Monday and will remain closed through August. Traffic will detour to the Rufe Snow Drive on-ramp.

President-to-be sets

meeting at UTA

ARLINGTON -- Vistasp Karbhari, sole finalist for the presidency of the University of Texas at Arlington, will visit with students, faculty and community leaders Wednesday during a town hall meeting.

The meeting, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Texas Hall, is aimed at giving the university community a chance to learn more about Karbhari, who is currently the provost at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He is expected to make brief opening remarks and engage in conversation, according to the campus's MavWire online publication for faculty and students.

The University of Texas System regents named Karbhari the sole finalist to the post Feb. 14. He will succeed President James Spaniolo, who announced his retirement last year.
