The "unlucky" burglar who called 911 in Parker County when a homeowner pointed a gun at him in December was sentenced Monday to seven years of probation.
Christopher Lance Moore, 41, of Bedford pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of burglary of a habitation in a plea agreement with prosecutors.If he violates his probation, Moore could be sent to prison for 10 years.Moore, who had been in custody since his arrest Dec. 4, was released Monday morning after the hearing in 43rd District Court in Weatherford.State District Judge Craig Towson also sentenced Moore to 200 community service hours and ordered him to pay a $2,000 fine.The crime occurred about 12:30 a.m. Dec. 4 in the 100 block of Lelon Lane in Springtown.The 38-year-old homeowner told deputies and Springtown police that he and his wife awoke to a man wearing dark clothing and a hooded jacket standing in their bedroom.The man hurriedly left the home and retreated toward his pickup, where the armed homeowner ordered him to stop. The burglar then got in his pickup, but the homeowner -- still holding a gun -- told the man to drop his keys, which he did.
