Last week was a microcosm of the up-and-down season the TCU women’s basketball team has faced this year. After notching its first Big 12 win on Wednesday, the Horned Frogs followed with one of their worst showings in a 66-56 loss to West Virginia in Fort Worth.

On Tuesday, TCU faces possibly its last real chance to double its conference win total before the end of the season, traveling to Austin to face Texas at the Erwin Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.

TCU stayed close to Texas in their first conference matchup this season, a 61-56 loss. Texas freshman center Imani McGee-Stafford had a career game, picking up a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. McGee-Stafford enters the game as the reigning Big 12 freshman player of the week.

The combination of McGee-Stafford and sophomore forward Nneka Enemkpali has Texas in the top 3 in the conference in rebounding offense, rebounding defense and rebounding margin.

The Horned Frogs have yet to register a win against the Longhorns entering Tuesday’s 32nd game of the all-time series.
