The Star-Telegram article on the big federal ammo buy said it was not sinister because the Department of Homeland Security shoots away 15 million rounds a year in training. (See: "Yes, the feds really want to buy 1.6 billion bullets," Feb. 15)
Dividing that into 1.6 billion rounds works out to a 106-year supply.My personal feeling is that it is being stockpiled in case of some kind of anarchy or civil disorder, and you are free to speculate as to your own scenarios that might precipitate that.
