FORT WORTH -- Police are searching for two purse snatchers who pepper sprayed a woman in the Ridgmar Mall parking lot.

The robbery occurred about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday outside the Macy's store at the mall at 2000 Green Oaks Boulevard, according to a Fort Worth police report.

Robbery Sgt. Joe Loughman said the 28-year-old victim was sitting in her car when two women knocked on her passenger side window.

"She rolled it down. They asked her for directions and then immediately pepper sprayed her, reached in and grabbed her purse," Loughman said.

The suspects, both black females, were described as approximately 5-foot-6-inch tall and weighing about 160 to 180 pounds. They fled in what witnesses described as a black Dodge Neon with a spoiler and possible paper license plate.

The victim was treated at the scene for her injuries by MedStar paramedics.

Anyone with information about the suspects' identities is asked to call the robbery unit at 817-392-4370.
