Gov. Rick Perry wants to not fund Planned Parenthood, preferring unplanned parenthood.

Unplanned pregnancies are often unwelcome pregnancies that have tragic results.

For the 10 women I have known with unwelcome pregnancies, it resulted in abortion for the college-educated adult women (four) or an unsupportable baby for the teenage girls (six).

The teenage girl immediately drops out of school, lives in poverty and works at menial jobs the rest of her life while the baby is severely handicapped by the family situation. The grandparents reject adoption.

Perry's approach of unplanned parenthood is a tragedy. Planned Parenthood is the most humane answer. The answer is birth control covered without co-pays under Obamacare. Those opposing that are champions of misery and ugly abortions.
