Burned child in north Fort Worth taken by helicopter to Parkland Hospital

A child with burns was taken by helicopter Tuesday evening from a home in north Fort Worth to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, according to reports.

The emergency was reported at 8:32 p.m. in the 7500 block of Indigo Ridge Drive, firefighters said.

MedStar was called, but first responders decided to summon CareFlite. A helicopter landed at about 9:05 p.m. near the neighborhood and was back in flight with the patient by 9:15 p.m., according to first responders broadcasting from the scene.

A CareFlite dispatcher confirmed that the child was being taken to Parkland.

No other information was available Tuesday evening.
