After avenging a pair of home losses with victories at both Seattle and Idaho, the UT Arlington men’s team opens its final homestand of the season tonight when it hosts UT Pan American at 7 at the College Park Center.

The Mavericks are riding a four-game win streak — their best streak of the season — heading into a four-game home stretch with a chance to gain momentum with only three weeks left until the Western Athletic Conference Tournament. UT Arlington is jockeying for the No. 3 seed in the tournament with New Mexico State just 2.5 games ahead.

Despite being 4-6 at home this season, the Mavericks won their last two games in the College Park Center behind Kevin Butler’s emergence as a go-to scorer. Over the last four games, Butler is averaging 18.8 points per game.

The Broncs offense revolves around Brandon Provost, a scoring guard who’s shooting 42 percent from 3-point range and averaging 14 points per game. UT Arlington beat UT Pan Am earlier this season 60-51 on Dec. 3 behind Brandon Edwards’ 17-point game.

This is an off week for conference play within the WAC. On Saturday, the Mavericks host UC Irvine in their Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters game at 5 p.m.
