Power was disrupted early Monday to about 2,900 residents when an underground cable failed near Fossil Creek Boulevard in northeast Fort Worth.

Repair crews for Oncor Electric Delivery were notified at 9:20 a.m. about the power outage, said Arielle Kaplan, Oncor spokeswoman.

Electricity was restored by 12:20 p.m. to about 65 percent of the customers, Kaplan said.

By 4:15 p.m., everyone's power was back on, she said.

The underground cable was identified as the problem, but Kaplan said she had no information about what specifically was wrong with it.

"Once in awhile, equipment fails," she said.
