Lady Wolves win first two rounds
Timberview took care of business in its first two playoff games, winning both by double digits.The Lady Wolves started their postseason run with a 57-40 win against Temple in the bi-district round. Timberview blew the game open in the second half, outscoring Temple 22-8 in the third quarter.Senior guard Lili Thompson led the Lady Wolves with 12 points.In the area round, Timberview cruised again with a 67-49 win against Lewisville. Lewisville only trailed by seven points to start the fourth quarter but the Lady Wolves dominated the final quarter, outscoring Lewisville 26-15.Timberview had four players in double figures, with guard Terriell Bradley leading the way with 19 points.Summit girls dominate in two playoff winsSummit’s defense led the way in the Lady Jaguars’ two playoff wins last week.Summit controlled Jacksonville in a 45-31 win in the bi-district round. The Lady Jaguars limited Jacksonville to just eight points in the first half.Leading scorer Keanna Kelly did it again for Summit, leading the Lady Jaguars with 15 points.Summit scored another big win in the area round, beating Wylie 61-47. Summit had three players score in double figures, with Taylor Jones scoring a team-high 13 points.Marcus wins Mansfield ISD softball tournamentFlower Mound Marcus posted a perfect 5-0 record and won the Mansfield ISD softball tournament on Saturday.Marcus beat Keller Central 9-5 and then blanketed Saginaw 11-0 to win the tournament in the final day.Legacy only played one game on Saturday and won, beating Vista Ridge 5-0. Mansfield also only played one game and crushed Haltom 12-0.Summit lost 15-0 against Arlington Bowie, and Timberview narrowly lost to Azle, falling 5-4.Lake Ridge dropped an 11-4 game to Odessa. - Josh BoweHave more to add?
