Paying real heroes

I would like to comment on Mac Engel's Thursday column on Chris Kyle being a true hero compared with a sports figure who's called a "hero."

An athlete might be considered an idol but is not even close to being a hero like Kyle -- or anyone in the military for that matter.

It probably does take some courage to step out on the field to face someone bigger and stronger than you.

True courage is facing someone with a weapon wanting to kill you, not an opposing player.

I believe a person wearing a helmet defending our country should make more money than a person wearing a helmet defending a goal line.
