As authorities continued to hunt for a fourth day for an escaped convict, the daughter of the Miami-Dade detective stabbed Monday night called on North Texans to assist in the search.

Christina Pardinas came to Dallas to be with her father, Detective Jaime Pardinas, who is being treated for multiple stab wounds at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

The convict, Alberto Morales, 42, stabbed him with a weapon fashioned from a pair of eyeglasses, police have said.

In a brief statement to reporters in Grapevine, Christina Pardinas thanked law enforcement officers in Texas, including police in Grapevine, where Morales attacked her father in a Wal-Mart parking lot. "Alberto Morales is a dangerous man," Christina Pardinas said. "He will do anything he wants to get what he wants. I urge the public to come forth before this man attacks and attempts to take someone else's loved one from them."

Jaime Pardinas and Detective David Carrero were transporting Morales from Miami to Las Vegas.

Morales, 42, is about 5-feet-7 and 165 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He has scars on his left hand, left arm and nose, and has discolored spots on his face around his right eye and on his forehead.

Anyone with information is asked to call Grapevine police at 817-410-8127.
