Appointments

The Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors installed its 2013 officers and directors at River Ranch in the Fort Worth Stockyards this past month.

Officers include: Clay Brants, president of Brants, Inc., Realtors, as president; Carol Van Hook, broker/owner of Mira Vista, Realtors, as vice president/president-elect; Michael Langford, sales associate with Orr & Associates Real Estate, as secretary/treasurer; and Johnny Bennett, broker/owner of JJ Bennett & Associates Realty Co. as immediate past president.

Directors include: Andra Beatty, Realtor associate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage; Cecilia Bratton, e-Pro, broker associate with Bratton Real Estate; Phyllis Brown, Realtor associate with Virginia Cook, Realtors; Jaci Coan, broker/owner of RE/MAX Trinity; Barbara Debenport McMasters, broker/owner of Genesis Masters Real Estate and Management Services; Jim Makens, broker/owner of The Makens Company; J.R. Martinez, Realtor associate with Kenneth Jones Real Estate; Jo Ann Royer, broker associate and director of relocation and urban developments for Williams Trew Sotheby's International; Betsy Senter, managing broker at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage; Donnie Sherwood, managing director of the Fort Worth office of Integra Realty Resources; Tony Sims, Realtor associate with Specialized Property Management; Mary Jo Thomas, Realtor associate with Brants Inc., Realtors and Leigh York, broker associate with Century 21, Judge Fite Company.

Honors

The Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors has presented the 2012 GFWAR President's Award to Alden Karokin, vice president of Virginia Cook, Realtors, for going above and beyond to support the president in his or her endeavors this past year. Local criminal defense attorneys Wes Ball and Don Hase were named Texas SuperLawyers. Ball has received the honor as an outstanding lawyer for the past five consecutive years, and Hase for the past four. The selection process is multiphased and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.
