MOSCOW, Idaho -- Kevin Butler was 7-for-7 from 3-point territory and finished with 23 points, leading UT Arlington to a 71-68 victory over host Idaho in Western Athletic Conference men's basketball on Thursday night.

Butler was 8-for-8 overall and was limited to 21 minutes because of foul trouble.

Brandon Edwards added 11 points for the Mavericks, who upped their conference record to 8-5. They are 13-9 overall.

UTA is 9-3 away from home this season, including 5-1 in the WAC.

"The guys played great defense and stuck to the game plan," UTA coach Scott Cross said. "Kevin Butler hit some big shots. I'm really proud of our guys."

Butler said he was shooting with confidence.

"I was feeling it tonight," he said.
