Boy, 11, dies from injuries in motorcycle wreck

FORT WORTH _ An 11-year-old boy injured Tuesday afternoon in a motorcycle wreck in northwest Fort Worth has died from his injuries, officials confirm.

Elijah "Eli" Anderson is a sixth-grade student at Creekview Middle School, according to a release by the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw school district. Counselors will be available at the school today to support students and staff, the district said.

The wreck was reported at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday in the 7000 block of Bowman Roberts Road, according to police and fire department reports.

According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office, Anderson died from neck injuries suffered after the dirt bike he was riding struck a barbed wire fence.

He was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center but pronounced dead from his injuries at 5:33 p.m. Tuesday.

His death has been ruled accidental.
