IRVING -- The winningest men's doubles team in tennis history will be playing for the Texas Wild during the Mylan World TeamTennis season this summer.

And they will be doing so at the Four Seasons Resort and Club in Las Colinas, the team announced Tuesday.

Wild owner and general manager Jeff Launius chose to protect the team's rights to Bob and Mike Bryan during Tuesday's Marquee Player Draft. The top-ranked brothers will be competing in their 11th season of World TeamTennis.

Marquee players do not play every match during the season due to scheduling conflicts, but the team confirmed that Venus Williams will lead the three-time champion Washington Kastles to Irving and 2003 Wimbledon finalist Mark Philippoussis will join the Boston Lobsters for their trip to North Texas.

"We're very excited to be having Venus, a former No. 1 and [seven-time] Grand Slam [singles] champion, coming here in our inaugural season," Launius said. "I can't be more pleased."

Other players selected during the draft were Andy Roddick, who will step out of retirement to play for the Springfield Lasers, and 20-year-old Sloane Stevens, who will join the Philadelphia Freedoms. The Sacramento Capitals also protected the rights to Sam Querrey and Mardy Fish.

A roster draft will be held March 12 in Indian Wells, Calif., to fill the remaining spots.

The Wild's home matches will be played at a 2,100-seat temporary stadium court at the Four Seasons Resort and Club.

The court will feature an owner's club on one end, box seats on the three sides and grandstand seating on two sides.

"The venue will be great," Launius said. "The Four Seasons is always in the top 50 in tennis resorts, and it will be a perfect fit for our event."

The season beings July 7 and runs throughout July. The schedule will be released in early March and season tickets will go on sale March 14. For more information go to texaswildtennis.com.
