Lewisville knocks off District 5-5A champ Colleyville Heritage

A

TCU signee Jada Butts scored a team-high 10 points as Lewisville, which entered the Class 5A playoffs with six wins, upset District 6-5A champion Colleyville Heritage 37-34 in the bi-district round Monday at Carroll High School.

Butts had missed 20 games this season with a knee injury, but came back late in district play to help Lewisville (7-24) win three of their final four games to earn the final playoff spot in District 5-5A.

“We didn’t overlook them at all,” Colleyville Heritage coach Dianna Sager said. “We did a very nice job on her tonight, we just couldn’t knock down the shots.”

Lewisville's next opponent is Killeen Ellison (31-3) or DeSoto (25-7).
