Not sure what Con Shuck's letter was trying to convey, but apparently he believes people collecting Social Security and Medicare are lazy and need to "get out and find something else." (See: "Spending problem," Feb. 1)

Social Security is not an entitlement; I paid into it for 46 years! Shuck has insulted countless retirees and others. The core of the problem -- is the 535 "intelligent" members of Congress he mentioned.
