In light of recent events concerning the Boy Scouts of America and gay rights, Rep. Phil King, R-Weatherford, issued the following statement:

"[Last week], I joined other state officials in signing a letter strongly encouraging the Boy Scouts of America to stay the course with their decades of support for family values and moral principles.”

King said the letter states, 'Capitulating to the liberal social agenda not only undermines the very principles of scouting, but sets the stage for the erosion of an organization that has defined the American experience for generations of young men.'"
