Authorities briefly blocked off a small area of downtown Fort Worth Monday morning near City Hall, where a suspicious package was discovered next to a commercial delivery drop box.
The package was found by a city worker at 7:37 a.m. at the drop box near the intersection of Texas and Monroe streets, said City spokesman Bill Begley. Both vehicle and foot traffic near the drop box were briefly diverted near the intersection but no buildings were closed.Authorities don't believe the package was a danger. As a precaution, it was taken to the Fire Department's bomb yard, said Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman Richard Harrison.Bill Hanna, (817) 390-7698Twitter: @fwhannaHave more to add? News tip?
