College notes: TCU varsity beats alumni in baseball

The TCU varsity defeated the alumni 7-4 in baseball Saturday afternoon at Lupton Stadium.

TCU's Trevor Seidenberger got the start and allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits in three innings.

The alumni jumped ahead 3-0 in the third inning, and after the varsity tied it in the fourth, doubles by Aaron Schultz and Matt Vern gave the alums a 4-3 lead in the seventh.

The varsity scored four in the eighth.

In other TCU news:

Track and field: TCU won four events at the Texas A&M Invitational.

Charles Silmon won the 60-meter dash in 6.71, Tricia Terry won the women's mile with a 4:54, Agnes Kemboi won the women's 3,000-meter run with a 9:48.94, and Kelsey Samuels won the women's shot put with a 51-41/4.

Texas Wesleyan basketball: Takoia Larry scored a career-high 30 points as the Lady Rams (18-7, 13-5 RRAC) defeated visiting Langston 72-56 for their sixth straight win. The Wesleyan men (15-10, 8-11) defeated Langston 81-71 as Oscar Griffin scored 26 points.

North Texas softball: UNT (3-1) defeated Texas A&M Corpus Christi 11-3 and Memphis 9-1 at the Texas Classic and advances to the title game today against No.7 Texas.

UT Arlington tennis: The women (0-2) lost 7-0 at No. 32 Rice.
