SAN ANTIONIO -- Ashley Spaletta led UT San Antonio with 21 points, all on 3-pointers, as the Roadrunners blew out the UT Arlington women 73-45 on Saturday night at the Convocation Center.

UTA (4-18, 2-10 WAC) shot 40 percent from the floor but didn't get enough shots up to keep pace with UTSA's 45.2 percent shooting.

"UTSA came out and played some smash-mouth basketball," UT Arlington coach Samantha Morrow said. "They set the tone early. It was a physical basketball game tonight, and they were just more physical than us."

The Mavericks turned the ball over on their first four possessions and did not put up a shot until Jordan Holub hit a jumper 3 1/2 minutes in to tie the game 2-2.

After UTA grabbed a brief 4-2 lead, UTSA (13-11, 7-6) took it back and never gave it up. Desherra Nwanguma tied the game at 11-11 with back-to-back baskets with 9:15 left in the first half, but UTSA then went on an 8-0 run.
