After an overtime win Thursday night, the UT Arlington women's basketball team plays at UT San Antonio today in search of its third Western Athletic Conference victory.

The Mavericks beat Texas State 73-72 in overtime.

UTSA is coming off a 79-73 loss on Thursday against Louisiana Tech, the Roadrunners' third loss in four games.

UTSA is one of the few teams in the WAC with a long playing history against the Mavericks, a former Southland Conference rival who lead the series 30-25. UTA has won two of the last three meeting against UTSA.

The Roadrunners won the first matchup this season 59-57 behind 23 points from UTSA sophomore guard Kamra King. Malaika Green and Laila Suleiman both scored in double figures for the Mavericks.

UTSA gives up only 54.7 points a game, a scoring defense ranked No. 42 in the NCAA and first in the WAC. UTSA is also first in the WAC in field-goal percentage defense as they limit opponents to 36 percent shooting a game.

During the season's first meeting, the Mavericks struggled in the first half, shooting only 33 percent. But UTA shot 45 percent in the second half.
