The TCU men's basketball team picked up its long awaited first Big 12 win Wednesday in an upset of No. 5 Kansas at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Today the women's squad hopes to follow suit.

The Texas Tech women's basketball team is no Kansas, but has received votes in the USA Today coaches poll heading into tonight's contest at 7 in Fort Worth.

Tech holds a 3-2 road record in conference play, with the latest road game coming on Feb. 2, when the Raiders lost 67-52 at Iowa State.

Tech has been efficient with the ball this season, sitting second in turnover margin in the conference at plus-5.1. Tech has created its own luck in that regard by placing second in steals in the Big 12, averaging 10.7 per game.

The Raiders are led by senior guard and Dallas Lincoln alumnus Chynna Brown, averaging 12.1 points per game. Brown edges senior guard Casey Morris by one-tenth of a point for the scoring lead.

Brown is tied for the team lead in rebounds with forward Christine Hyde at 5.4 per game.

TCU sits third in the Big 12 in blocked shots behind Texas and Baylor, thanks to junior center Latricia Lovings' conference-leading 77 swats.

Texas Tech won the first meeting this season, 53-42. Today will be the 40th meeting between the programs, with Tech leading 38-1.
