Hoping to stay rolling after Thursday's 25-point win, the UT Arlington men's basketball team hosts last-place UT San Antonio at 7 tonight at College Park Center.
Kevin Butler is coming off his biggest game of the season, scoring 21 points and draining four 3-pointers to give UTA the offensive spark it needed.Coach Scott Cross said he needs Butler, who has been hit-and-miss, to play at a high level the rest of the season."I talked to him a few days ago and told him, 'It's time. We need you. Our team goes through you with your intensity,'" Cross said. "So he went out and played with a lot of confidence.".UTSA has lost four straight games, including a 74-49 loss to Louisiana Tech on Thursday. If the Roadrunners hope to get their offense in gear, they'll have a tough go against the sixth-best defensive unit in the nation. The Mavericks held Texas State to a 22.6 shooting percentage to lower their field-goal percentage defensive average to 36.4.UTA handled UTSA from wire-to-wire in San Antonio on Jan. 10 in a 75-67 win, but neither team has been good at home all year. UTA is 3-6 at home this season.
