Reasons to consider a national sales tax in lieu of income taxes:

1. No time or money spent to figure out how much is owed.

2. Each person pays the same percentage, whether citizen or not.

3. Logically, those who earn little will pay less. (This assumes any receiving assistance to pay for food will not be purchasing luxury items.)

4. No loopholes.

5. People are not taxed for savings and passing along their wealth to charities or family.

8. It would be a "pay-as-you-go" system.
