Firefighters responded to a reported fire just before 1 a.m. in the 800 block of Cielo Vista Drive. A second alarm was called because the fire was spreading to adjacent homes and additional crews were needed to aid in rescue residents, according to a press release.

A Grand Prairie firefighter was shocked by an electrical short during the fire and also was taken to the Medical Center but subsequently released, according to the press release.

Twenty-two firefighters battled the fire before it was extinguished.
