GRAND PRAIRIE - A Grand Prairie firefighter was taken to the hospital after suffering an electrical shock at an early morning house fire, officials said.
Firefighters responded to a reported fire just before 1 a.m. in the 800 block of Cielo Vista Drive. A second alarm was called because the fire was spreading to adjacent homes and additional crews were needed to aid in rescue residents, according to a press release.A man rescued from the house fire by his son and a home health nurse was transported to Medical Center of Arlington and is under evaluation.A Grand Prairie firefighter was shocked by an electrical short during the fire and also was taken to the Medical Center but subsequently released, according to the press release.Twenty-two firefighters battled the fire before it was extinguished.One resident was rescued by his son, said Grand Prairie Fire Chief Robert Fite in a news release.The cause of the fire was under investigation.Susan Schrock, 817-709-7578Twitter:@susanschrockHave more to add?
