TCU senior Daniel Jennevret's 5-under-par 67 has the 16th-ranked Horned Frogs tied with No. 4 UCLA atop the leader board after Wednesday's opening round of the Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

Jennevret recorded a team-high seven birdies, including his opening two holes, to take a one-stroke lead over eight golfers tied for second.

TCU's Eli Cole is among the pack behind Jennevret with a 68. The senior had six birdies.

Julien Brun and Pontus Gad are tied for 23rd at 1-under 71.

Brun, on the Ben Hogan Award watch list, birdied three of his final six holes.

Alumni play ball

The TCU baseball team hosts the annual Alumni game at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lupton Stadium. Admission is free.

The expected starting pitchers will be left-hander Trevor Seidenberger against Greg Holle. The 2013 alumni will feature six new faces as Jason Coats, Josh Elander, Zac Jordan, Kevin Allen, Kaleb Merck and Kyle Von Tungeln will make their first appearance in the other dugout.

TCU, ranked No. 14 by Baseball America, opens the season Feb. 15 at No. 13 Ole Miss.

Review of NCAA

The NCAA says it expects to receive the results of an independent review of inappropriate actions by members of its enforcement staff who have been investigating the University of Miami football program by the end of next week.

The NCAA announced that the review is complete and a final report is being put together.
