2012 record: 9-4

Players signed: 15 Signees from Texas: 13

Offense: The Longhorns have their entire line returning, but added much-needed depth and future starters. Darius James is regarded as the best center recruit in the country, and Kent Perkins is a top tackle prospect as well. And dual-threat quarterback Tyrone Swoopes has already drawn comparisons to Vince Young.

Defense: The Longhorns lost safety Kenny Vaccaro and defensive end Alex Okafor, but have an intriguing group of defensive players coming in. Antwuan Davis is a speedy cornerback, and Jake Raulerson has enrolled for the spring and should get some time at defensive end.

Immediate impact: Geoff Swaim. The junior college transfer is known as a block-first tight end and should compete for playing time right away. The Longhorns lost one of their tight end recruits, Durham Smythe, to Notre Dame, which makes Swaim a more valuable signee.
