FORT WORTH -- A man in a hooded sweatshirt and showing a small handgun has robbed five insurance offices and three Metro PCS stores across the city in the past month, police said Tuesday as they released video surveillance in hopes that someone might recognize him.

The latest robbery was Monday at Baja Auto Insurance in the 3300 block of North Main Street, police said in a news release. The first was Jan. 3 at A Max Auto Insurance in the 6400 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

"He is considered to be armed and dangerous," said officer Daniel Segura, a police spokesman.

Each time, the robber produced a small, dark-colored handgun and demanded money. He is Hispanic in his early to mid-20s, slender and about 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 7.

In the video, his face is partially covered with the hood. The other robberies were: Jan. 8, Amco Auto Insurance, 4000 block of South Freeway; Jan. 11, Metro PCS, 4100 block of Hemphill Street; another Baja Auto Insurance, Jan. 15, 100 block of West Seminary Drive; Jan. 24, Metro PCS, 1000 block West Berry Street; Jan. 30, Metro PCS, 6500 block of Camp Bowie Boulevard; and Jan. 30, A Max Auto Insurance, 2400 block of N.E. 28th Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911, the Fort Worth Robbery Unit at 817-392-4370 or Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477).

"A reward up to $1,000 will be offered to anyone who provides a tip that leads to an arrest for a crime or a criminal case cleared," Segura said.
