Parker County residents driving Greenwood Road should be aware that beginning Feb. 6 and lasting through Feb. 13, the intersection of Greenwood Road at the new Ric Williamson Memorial Highway will be closed for construction.

During the construction, residents will have vehicle access to Greenwood Road west of the intersection from Greenwood Cut-Off Road and east of the intersection from Ranger Highway.

"Construction of the Ric Williamson Memorial Highway continues to make progress," County Judge Mark Riley said. "As we attempt to minimize any inconvenience this construction may cause, we look forward to the increased mobility this project brings to our residents."

When completed in 2014, the Ric Williamson Memorial Highway will connect to FM 51 just north of Weatherford and Interstate 20, just west of Weatherford.

Parker County’s Transportation Bond Program has brought needed infrastructure improvements to the county, facilitating safer mobility, cleaner air and economic development opportunities to one of the state’s fastest growing counties, Riley said.
