I am outraged that the city of Fort Worth would spend $1.3 million to purchase 50 Chevrolet Tahoes for the police department from a Chevrolet dealer out of the area.

We have four dealers in Fort Worth, and a couple of others in Tarrant County. They pay their taxes in our community and should have priority in city purchases. While all purchases of this nature are on a "low-bid" basis, you can't tell me that the local dealers were out-bid enough to not make the sale. The low bid isn't always best.
