Keller ISD

Texas School rally

Keller, Carroll and Grapevine-Colleyville school districts will host a public rally at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at Grapevine High School to promote support for Texas schools. The districts are asking taxpayers, parents and educators to continue to make education a priority. The event will be held in the school gymnasium at 3223 Mustang Dr., Grapevine.

Central FBLA news

Nam Nguyen and Lynn Tong, members of Central High’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America , recently participated in a national online competition. The two students competed as a team in the Personal Finance competition, placing first in the state and ninth in the nation.

KHS UIL academics

The Keller High University Interscholastic League Academic Team competed in an invitational meet Jan. 12 at Byron Nelson High School. The team won the Academic Sweepstakes for the meet and placed second in Overall Sweepstakes.

Northwest ISD

Academic All-American athlete

Truett Wilson Middle School running back Galvin Holmes has been named a 2013 Junior Academic All-American. He showed his skills on the football field in California where he played in the Junior Academic All-American game on Jan. 4. Holmes demonstrates the same success in the classroom, taking pre-advanced placement classes while maintaining a 3.8 grade-point average.

Parent survey

Parents can provide feedback on a variety of topics by completing the Northwest school district’s 2012-13 Parent Survey. Surveys will be sent to parent email addresses from Feb. 4 through Feb. 15. Parents can also request a hard copy. For more information, call (817) 215-0171. Parents can also use a computer at their child’s campus to complete the survey.

February School Board Meetings

The Northwest school board will meet twice this month: Feb. 11 and 25. Both meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Board Room at the NISD Administration Building (2001 Texan Drive, Fort Worth).
