The Southlake Chamber of Commerce is fortunate that Mark Guilbert can step in for Dana Davis, who’s leaving after 2 1/2 years as its president, said Traci Bernard, board chairwoman.

“The advantage is that Mark Guilbert is our outgoing chair and he’s going to be helping us maintain daily operations and assist with the search for Dana’s replacement,” she said. “We’re sorry to lose Dana, but we support his decision. I’m confident we’ll find a great replacement.”

A director for more than six years, Guilbert was board chairman from July 1, 2011, through June 30, 2012.

“Mark’s been a member of the board more than six years, he’s the immediate past chairman,” Davis said. “It’s going to be smooth because he understands the chamber, understands the community and is highly respected by the community.”

An outstanding community and excellent team of chamber members made his Southlake experience rewarding, Davis said.

“I have experienced great volunteer leadership during my tenure and believe that together we have seen the chamber experience positive changes,” he said. “I am proud to have been a part of that effort.”

Davis’ last day is Feb. 22, when he leaves to become CEO and president of the Bentonville/Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce in Northwest Arkansas.

“It’s a really nice area, nice community in the lakes region,” he said. “Bella Vista actually started as a retirement community. It has eight golf courses.”
