It has been one year and one day since the UT Arlington women's basketball team last won a home game.
The Mavericks beat UT San Antonio on Feb. 1, 2012, in UTA's first game at College Park Center. Since then the Mavericks have lost 12 straight home games and their last eight overall."We don't play defense, don't score enough points and we turn the ball over," UTA coach Samantha Morrow said. "I've seen us play well at times, we're capable of winning games, but we just have to step up and do it."The eight-game losing streak is tied for the third longest in school history."We can draw up X's and O's ... but it's what they do in practice," Morrow said. "And that's to follow the scouting report ... and play with an aggressiveness."The Mavericks will try to snap their skids tonight against Louisiana Tech, which has lost three of its last four games. The Bulldogs beat UTA 65-58 on Jan. 5.
