Take a designated driver to your Super Bowl party, Tarrant County authorities say.
The county this year will enact its "No Refusal" campaign for the first time on Super Bowl Sunday, according to the Tarrant County district attorney's office.Law enforcement agencies will get search warrants allowing them to draw blood from people arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated but who decline to take a breath test from 8 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday, an official said.A $300,000 grant recently allowed the county to expand the campaign to include Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve, Super Bowl, Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day.Anyone arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated during the campaign also will have their name and age posted on the district attorney's website."Regardless of who wins the big game, those who ignore our warning and drive while intoxicated will lose," Assistant District Attorney Richard Alpert said in a statement.
