Sporting fresh paint and new aircraft smell, American Airlines flew paying customers for the first time on its new Boeing 777-300ER on Thursday.
The flight, which departed Dallas/Fort Worth for Sao Paulo at 8:30 p.m., was also the first aircraft with American's new livery design on the outside. The 777-300 features lie-flat seats in first and business class and in-flight entertainment systems in every seat.It took American about two years to design the new interior cabin, emphasizing customer comfort and convenience in its first and business class cabins, said Alice Liu, managing director of on board products for American."It truly represents that American Airlines put the customer at the center of everything," said Liu, pointing out the swivel chairs, water bottle holders and make-up mirrors in the first-class cabin.
