Charles Bellamy was found guilty of murdering his 2-year-old daughter in a tub of scalding water. (See "Father is found guilty of murder," Friday) He was sentenced to 55 years in prison and fined $5,000, with the possibility of parole upon completion of half of his sentence.

What a total miscarriage of justice. The public is now expected to pay for his incarceration as well as his other eight children.

He should have been sentenced to death for such a despicable crime. If the same injustice system grants him parole, it should be on the basis of voluntary castration.
