A North Richland Hills man was in custody Thursday after a stabbing early Wednesday evening on Sierra Drive.
Shane Barry Hale, 57, is accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.The victim, also 57, was taken to an area hospital to be treated for multiple stab wounds, but he was expected to survive, police said.Officers got a 911 call at 6 p.m. Wednesday about a stabbing in the 6900 block of Sierra Drive, said Investigator Keith Bauman, police spokesman."When the officers arrived, they located an individual with injuries of what appeared to be multiple stab wounds to the chest area," Bauman said in a news release.Police learned that Hale and the victim knew each other and that Hale had driven to the victim's home on Sierra Drive where they argued in the roadway.Hale fled the scene but police caught up with him later at his home on Sheridon Drive in the far southwest corner of the city, police said."Mr. Hale was questioned by police and was ultimately placed under arrest for the assault," Bauman said.The reason for the fight was still under investigation Thursday afternoon.Hale, meanwhile, was being held at the North Richland Hills Jail with bail set at $250,000, Bauman said.Bill Miller, 817-390-7684Twitter: @Bill_MillerSTHave more to add?
