A Tarrant County jury sent a man to prison for 15 years Wednesday for biting off another man's nose.

Christopher W. Harris, 37, now has three convictions linked to cannibalistic behavior, according to court records.

Harris pleaded guilty to another assault Wednesday and received a two-year sentence that will run concurrently with the 15-year sentence as part of a plea agreement.

Harris and another homeless man argued while washing a car Jan. 1, 2012, according to an official with the Tarrant County district attorney's office.

A fight ensued and Harris grabbed Walter Mood in a bearhug and bit off the right nostril, the tip of the nose and part of the left nostril, prosecutor Mark Thielman said.

"Medical records called the incident a facial amputation," Thielman said.

Medical personnel were unable to reattach the nose, a news release from the district attorney's office said.

In 2001, Harris was sentenced to nine months in jail for biting off the tip of a jailer's finger. In 2006, he was sentenced to four years in prison for biting another person on the finger after his probation was revoked, court records showed.
