A Tarrant County jury sent a man to prison for 15 years on Wednesday for biting off another man's nose.

Christopher W. Harris, 37, now has three convictions linked to his cannibalistic behavior, according to court records.

Harris pleaded guilty to another assault on Wednesday and received a two-year prison sentence that will run simultaneously with the 15-year sentence as part of a plea agreement.

Harris, who is homeless, and another homeless man got into an argument while they were washing a car on Jan. 1, 2012, according to an official with the Tarrant County district attorney's office.

A fight ensued and during the fight, Harris grabbed Walter Mood in a bear hug and bit off the right nostril, the nose tip and a piece of the left nostril, said Mark Thielman, prosecutor.

"Medical records called the incident a facial amputation," Thielman said.

Medical personnel were unable to reattach Mood's nose, a news release from the Tarrant County district attorney's office said.

In 2001, Harris was sentenced to nine months in jail for biting off the tip of a jailer's finger. In 2006, Harris was sentenced to four years in prison for biting a piece of another man's finger off and swallowing it after his probation was revoked, court records showed.
