This country was founded as a representative republic with three equal branches of government. It is supposed to be a nation of laws, not of men.

If various sheriffs around the country say they are not going to follow any unconstitutional law about gun control they are merely following the example of one of the federal branches, the executive. When President Obama and the Department of Justice declare they will pick and choose which laws to follow and which to ignore they are setting an example for others to follow.

An Appeals Court just declared that executive actions taken during a supposed Senate recess were unconstitutional, but presidential spokesman Jay Carney stated that they would ignore this ruling because they disagreed with the decision.

If we allow this kind of rule to continue, it will result in chaos, anarchy and a dictatorship.
