A Hurst man held authorities at bay for more than four hours Tuesday morning at a Lewisville restaurant before he surrendered without incident, Lewisville police said.

Authorities identified the man as David Lee Horton, 33, who was being questioned at the Lewisville police station.

The standoff began about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday at the International House of Pancakes, 2345 S. Stemmons Freeway, in Lewisville and ended about 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Police were dispatched to the restaurant when an employee overheard a female with Horton talking about them stealing a vehicle.

As officers arrived, Horton, who claimed to have a gun, barricaded himself in a bathroom.

Authorities evacuated the restaurant as Horton made his way into an attic.

After he surrendered, Horton was arrested on two warrants issued from Plano for aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping. He also had a Dallas County warrant for burglary of a vehicle.

Horton and two females who had been in the restaurant with him face additional charges in the Lewisville case, authorities said.
