At least one key NFL executive thinks play improved at the Pro Bowl this year: Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Goodell said Monday in a one-hour question and answer session on the social network Reddit that he thought the game improved from last year, when players were clearly not trying and were booed by fans in Hawaii.

"I watched the game and noticed the improved quality of the game," Goodell said of the NFC's 62-35 win. "I look forward to getting detailed player comment and input over the next few weeks."

The league has said it plans to decide on the future of the Pro Bowl by April, when next season's schedule is to be released.

HGH test wanted

The leaders of the House of Representatives' Oversight Committee, upset about the failure of the NFL to finalize with its players' union a drug testing program for human growth hormone, warned the union in a letter Monday that they might call players to testify at a hearing on the matter.

The NFL and the union agreed to start HGH testing as part of the collective bargaining agreement completed in August 2011, but have sparred since.

Bar owner charged

Michael Miske Jr., owner of the M Nightlife nightclub in downtown Honolulu, was charged with second-degree assault for striking Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams in the head with a champagne bottle early Saturday morning. Williams, in Hawaii to play in the Pro Bowl, required seven stitches and sat out Sunday's game.

Briefly

Broncos: Two-time All-Pro left tackle Ryan Clady, an impending free agent, will undergo surgery to repair his right shoulder that was injured in the team's final regular-season game.

Saints: General manager Mickey Loomis received a five-year contract extension, matching that of coach Sean Payton.

Lions: Brian Xanders, former Broncos general manager, has accepted a front office position.

Panthers: Ken Dorsey was named quarterbacks coach, Jim Skipper is the new running backs coach and Al Holcomb is the linebackers coach.

Colts: General manager Ryan Grigson has been selected the Sporting News' NFL executive of the year by one vote over Broncos executive vice president John Elway.

Jurisprudence: Former 49ers left tackle Kwame Harris was charged with felony domestic violence and assault after an incident involving a former boyfriend at a Chinese restaurant.
