Forbes Magazine selected UT Arlington coach Scott Cross to its inaugural ranking of the "Best College Basketball Coaches For The Money."

Cross was ranked 10th on the list of mid-major coaches.

Forbes said its criteria for the list is not the number of wins and losses, but how much a coach wins compared with the resources he has.

Scott Nagy of South Dakota State is first.

TCU golf leads

TCU is tied for the lead at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, which was suspended during the second round Monday because of darkness.

The Frogs, who led after the first round with a 4-under par 280, are tied with Arizona State at 4 under. Most teams have between three to five holes remaining in the second round.

Julien Brun of TCU is tied for third place at 5-under par through 15 holes of the second round. Eli Cole is fifth at 4 under with two holes remaining.

Big East expansion

The Big East conference is looking to add another school, and might sign a TV package that includes multiple networks, Commissioner Mike Aresco said.

Aresco said the Big East wants to keep its name as it rebrands, and no longer has any plans to expand farther west than Texas.

"We probably at some point will add a 12th team," Aresco said. "There's no urgency, but we think we'll probably think it."

Briefly

Texas Wesleyan golf: The Rams signed Fossil Ridge senior Matt Killam.

Virginia Tech football: Cornerback Antone Exum tore a ligament in his right knee and could miss the start of the 2013 season. Exum considered entering the draft as a junior but decided to return for his senior season.
