Mansfield Bible makes plans for Super Bowl

The Big Bowl Party will begin with tailgating at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at Mansfield Bible Church. There will be a chili cook-off with prizes for the best chili and fun and games for the kids. Come watch the game on MBC's 38-foot screen. MBC is located at 2351 Country Club Drive in Mansfield.

New Beginnings set for move

New Beginnings Baptist Church is moving.

After years of fellowship at 206 Smith St. in Mansfield, the church is moving to 700 Cordes St. in Venus.

The first service in the new building will be at Feb. 3, with Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship service at 10:45 a.m.

Bethlehem helps families, ex-offenders

Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1188 West Broad St., has partnered with Mercy Heart, a nonprofit, multi-denominational organization for families of inmates and ex-offenders, for those that are returning to the community. We are committed to those that need relief, recovery and restoration with on-going needs for all age groups --children, adults and senior adults.

Services are held from 7-9 p.m. every Friday at Bethlehem Baptist Church. For more information, contact Rev. Roger Buchanan at (817) 473-1236.

Walnut Ridge plans soccer, t-ball

Registration for t-ball and soccer leagues for boys and girls ages 4-7 runs through Thursday.

The season begins mid-March and will last six weeks. Practices and games will be on Saturdays at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, 1201 Texas 360.

The league will focus on skills training and character development. T-ball registration is $60 per child, soccer is $50. Go to www.walnutridgechurch.com.

FUMC offers grief support class

First Methodist Mansfield will offer Journey through Grief, a grief support class, starting Feb. 11 from 6:30-8 p.m. in room M-111 in the main building.

This seven-week class provides a Christian environment to help those grieving to understand and integrate loss into their lives. The class is open to the whole community. Childcare is available.

Church plans mystery dinner theatre

Looking for something different to do for your Valentine? Come to Mansfield Bible Church's Valentine Banquet on Feb. 9.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a delicious meal followed by a mystery theatre. Childcare is available with registration. Cost is $16 per person.

FUMC plans Ash Wednesday service

Join First Methodist Mansfield for a special Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 in the sanctuary. Pastors will also be in the Chapel from 6-8 a.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for the imposition of ashes. Ash Wednesday is the first day of the season of Lent, the time we prepare for Easter as we focus on the beginning of the journey of Jesus Christ to the cross and the resurrection that followed.

Knights plan fish fries

It's that time of year again when the Knights of Columbus will be preparing their famous fish fry for the community. With the start of Lent, the first fry will be Feb. 15 at the church enter on the corner of East Dallas and Graves streets. Please use the Graves Street entrance.

Meals will be served from 6 p.m. until sold out, so be sure to get there early.

With major construction of our new house of worship, parking will be at a premium. Special meals will be available on select Fridays. Each dish comes with two sides and includes condiments and a drink. Children dishes will also be available for those under 12. Take out orders will also be available.

Everyone is invited.

South Oaks schedules rummage, bake sale

South Oaks Baptist Church, 5925 U.S. 287 in Arlington, will hold a rummage sale and bake sale from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Feb. 9. Cash only.
